A saloon was first established on this site in 1873. The original building was destroyed by fire in the 1960's. The saloon was re-established in 1987 to brew and serve Boonville Beer. The brewery has been moved to the intersection of Highways 128 and 253 just south of downtown Boonville. For 13 years the Saloon was a traditional brew pub but is now the Highpockety OX. Although the building is physically the same, there are some important changes in service and an expanded beer menu. The OX is open and bright with large windows with views of the hills to the north. Appitizers, lunch and dinner is served at the bar or at the twelve indoor and eight outdoor dinning tables. |
